  • Small amounts of beige, white, yellow, light blue, and pink yarn

  • White and black sewing thread
  • Polyester fiberfill stuffing

Scooby-Doo Body

Start knitting from the bottom.

Cast on 20 stitches using brown yarn. Attach yarn to the second half of the chest and knit a row. On WS row, cast off 4 stitches, K26.

Decrease 1 stitch at the beginning and end of each row until 2 stitches remain (cast off). Work a total of 12 rows.

Join to the center-divided front part of the chest. With brown yarn, turning work with right side facing you, pick up stitches evenly distributing 44 stitches (22 stitches on each side). Work 35 rows in stockinette stitch.

Scooby-Doo Forming the upper part of the head:

Next row: (K3, dec, K4, dec) to end of row (36 sts) Work 3 rows in stockinette stitch Next row: (K2, dec, K3, dec) to end of row (28 sts) Purl 1 row Next row: Dec to end of row (14 sts)

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the remaining stitches onto a yarn needle, pull tight to close the opening, and secure the yarn.

Scooby-Doo Front Paws (Make 2)

With brown yarn, cast on 44 stitches for the lower edge and work 4 rows in stockinette stitch. Increase 4 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows (52 sts) Work 4 rows in stockinette stitch.

Next row: Cast off 8 stitches for paw edge, (K1, inc, K1) 9 times, K8 (35 sts) Next row: Cast off 8 stitches for paw edge, P4, dec 9 times, P5 (18 sts) Cast off all stitches.

Front Legs (Make 2)

Fold the upper edge of the paw in half and join. With brown yarn, turning work with right side facing you, pick up 8 stitches from each side of the paw edge (16 sts total) Work 19 rows in stockinette stitch. Next row: (K3, inc) to end of row (20 sts) Work 7 rows in stockinette stitch. Next row: (K4, inc) to end of row (24 sts) Work 5 rows in stockinette stitch. Next row: (K5, inc) to end of row (28 sts) Work 3 rows in stockinette stitch.

Cast off 3 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows for the upper part of legs (22 sts) Decrease 1 stitch at beginning and end of next 4 rows (14 sts) Work 8 rows in stockinette stitch. Decrease 1 stitch at beginning and end of next 4 rows (6 sts) Cast off all stitches.

Scooby-Doo Front Paw Pads (Make 2)

With brown yarn, cast on 8 stitches and work 1 row. Increase at the beginning of the next 6 rows (14 sts) Work 13 rows in stockinette stitch. Decrease 1 stitch at beginning and end of next 2 rows (10 sts) Cast off all stitches.

Scooby-Doo Hind Paws (Make 2)

With brown yarn, cast on 64 stitches and work 8 rows in stockinette stitch. Cast off 14 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows for the paw edge (36 sts)

Scooby-Doo Forming the upper edge:

Cast off 6 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows (24 sts) Next row: (K1, dec, K1) to end of row (18 sts) Next row: (Dec 2 stitches together with purl) to end of row (9 sts) Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread through remaining stitches, pull tight to close the opening, and secure.

Scooby-Doo Hind Legs (Make 2)

Fold the upper edge of the paw in half and join. With brown yarn, turning work with right side facing you, pick up 14 stitches from each side of the paw edge (28 sts total) Purl 1 row. Upper Muzzle (1 piece)

With brown yarn, cast on 18 stitches for the muzzle edge and work 2 rows in stockinette stitch. Increase 1 stitch at beginning and end of next row. Work 3 rows in stockinette stitch. Repeat the last 4 rows 3 more times (26 sts) Work 1 row in stockinette stitch. Decrease 1 stitch at beginning and end of next 2 rows (22 sts) Next row: K7, dec 4 times, K7 (18 sts) Cast off all stitches.

Inner Muzzle (1 piece)

With brown yarn, cast on 14 stitches for the inner edge and work 4 rows in stockinette stitch. Increase 1 stitch at beginning and end of next row. Work 3 rows in stockinette stitch. Repeat the last 4 rows once more (18 sts) Decrease 1 stitch at beginning and end of next 4 rows (10 sts) Cast off all stitches.

Lower Jaw (1 piece)

With brown yarn, cast on 28 stitches for the lower edge of the muzzle. Next increase row: K12, inc 4 times, K12 (32 sts) Purl 1 row.

Forming the edge of the mouth:

Decrease 1 stitch at the beginning of the next 2 rows (30 sts) Next row of decreases: Dec, K9, dec 4 times, K11 (25 sts) Decrease 1 stitch at the beginning of the next 9 rows (16 sts) Next row: Dec to end of row (8 sts) Cast off all stitches.

Inside of Lower Jaw (1 piece)

With black yarn, cast on 12 stitches for the inner edge and work 10 rows in stockinette stitch. Decrease 1 stitch at beginning of next 4 rows (6 sts) Cast off all stitches.

Tongue (1 piece)

With pink yarn, cast on 8 stitches and work 10 rows in stockinette stitch. Decrease 1 stitch at beginning and end of next 2 rows (4 sts) Cast off all stitches.

Fold the front edge of the upper muzzle in half and join, sew the inner and upper parts of the muzzle together, leaving the edges open for the face.

Sew the upper edge of the lower jaw with the rounded edge of the inner part, leaving the edge for the face and chin open. From the purl side of the lower jaw, sew the increase row and decrease row together to form a fold on the right side of the work.

Turn the jaw to the right side and sew the pink tongue to the center of the inner part of the lower jaw. Firmly stuff the upper part of the muzzle and the lower jaw.

To place the head correctly, count 26 rows up from the neck center of the front body and mark the center of the row with a pin. Then count 5 stitches to the left and right from the center and mark with contrasting thread using two vertical lines.

Position the central stitch of the upper muzzle on the pin, with the sides on the marked lines, and sew in place.

Using the same principle, position and sew the lower jaw, placing the chin edge 2 rows up from the neck. Remove the pin and marking thread.

Nose (1 piece)

With black yarn, cast on 4 stitches and work 1 row. Increase 1 stitch at beginning and end of next 4 rows (12 sts) Work 3 rows in stockinette stitch. Cast off all stitches.

Eyes (Make 2)

With white yarn, cast on 11 stitches. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread through all stitches, pull tight to close the circle, and secure.

Eyebrows (Make 2)

With black yarn, cast on 5 stitches. Cast off all stitches.

Ears (Make 2)

With brown yarn, cast on 12 stitches and work 10 rows in stockinette stitch. Decrease 1 stitch at beginning and end of next 6 rows (6 sts) Work 2 rows in stockinette stitch. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread through all stitches, pull tight to close, and secure.

Inner Ears (Make 2)

With beige yarn, cast on 8 stitches and work 10 rows in stockinette stitch. Decrease 1 stitch at beginning and end of next 6 rows (2 sts) Cast off all stitches.

Collar (1 piece)

With light blue yarn, cast on 56 stitches and work 3 rows in stockinette stitch. Cast off all stitches as if working a row in stockinette stitch.

Tag for Collar (1 piece)

With yellow yarn, cast on 6 stitches and work 8 rows in stockinette stitch. Cast off all stitches.

Collar Tag Edge (1 piece)

With yellow yarn, cast on 24 stitches. Next row: (Dec, K2, dec with left slant) 4 times (16 sts) Cast off all stitches as if working a row in stockinette stitch.

Tail (1 piece)

With brown yarn, cast on 14 stitches and work 70 rows in stockinette stitch.

Forming the tail tip:

Dec to end of row (7 sts) Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread through remaining stitches, pull tight to close, and secure.

Black Spots

Large Spot:

Cast on 10 stitches, work 1 row of stockinette stitch. Next row: Pick up 1 stitch at each edge (purl row) (12 sts) Next row: Knit 12 sts In the next row, increase 1 stitch at each edge (purl row) (14 sts) Work 4 rows in stockinette stitch (14 sts) Next row: Knit, decrease 1 stitch at each edge (12 sts) Work 3 rows in stockinette stitch Next row: Decrease 1 stitch at each edge (10 sts) Work 2 rows in stockinette stitch Decrease 1 stitch at each edge (8 sts) Work 1 row in stockinette stitch Decrease 1 stitch at each edge (6 sts) Work 1 row in stockinette stitch Decrease 1 stitch at each edge (4 sts) Cast off all stitches.

Medium Spot:

Small Spot:

Cast on 3 stitches. Work 1 row in stockinette stitch Next row: Increase 1 stitch at each edge (5 sts) Work 1 row in stockinette stitch Decrease 1 stitch at each edge (3 sts) Work 1 row in stockinette stitch Decrease 1 stitch at each edge (1 st) Cast off remaining stitch.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Stuff the body firmly with polyester fiberfill.
  2. Sew the head to the body, following the placement instructions provided above.
  3. Attach the ears to the top of the head.
  4. Sew the upper muzzle and lower jaw to the front of the head as directed.
  5. Attach the nose to the tip of the muzzle.
  6. Sew the eyes and eyebrows in position.
  7. Attach the front and hind legs to the body.
  8. Sew the paw pads to the bottom of each paw.
  9. Attach the collar around the neck and sew the tag to the front.
  10. Sew the tail to the back of the body.
  11. Attach the black spots in various positions on the body, as shown in the picture.
  12. Add any final details or adjustments as needed.
